BQK flying at full capacity with your safety in mind

Traffic is returning to the Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport and we can’t wait to see you fly with us. The air truly is better up here.

You may notice a few changes at the airport the next time you fly out of Brunswick as a part of our always-ongoing efforts to enhance your experience at BQK.

The most obvious new addition at Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport is the parking lot expansion. As demand for flights returns, we needed more space to accommodate all the happy travelers who enjoy the ease of flying out of Brunswick. The parking lot expansion – built by Seaboard Construction, of Brunswick, and engineered by RS&H, Inc., of Jacksonville – added 125 new free spaces onsite at the airport. That means no shuttles are required and there is no parking-fee sticker shock when you return home from your trip. This project also included adding new and improved lighting and stormwater infrastructure as well as updated landscaping. The $962,401 project was paid for in full by Federal Aviation Administration Airport Improvement grants.

After you park and walk inside, you will notice the exceptionally clean terminal area is sparkling a little more. That is thanks to the efforts of our staff who work tirelessly to ensure the airport is clean and disinfected so that you can rest easily as you await your flight. Airport employees are wearing masks as they serve you and precautions and guidelines are being followed so you know you are travelling safely.

On the plane, Delta is following guidelines as well. In addition to regularly sanitizing and cleaning high-touch surfaces, Delta is keeping its own mask requirement in place to minimize the potential for disease transmission. Additionally, Delta Connection planes are equipped with air filtration systems that circulate air constantly.

Coming up, keep your eyes out for construction beginning on a new dining experience at BQK. Tipsy McFly’s, a neighborhood bar and grill from the owner of downtown Brunswick’s Tipsy McSway’s, is set to begin build-out in June with an opening later this Summer.

Thanks to the fearless work of our frontline workers, we are flying again at full capacity after operating just one Delta Connection flight per day due to state, national and international travel restrictions during the height of the pandemic. Three flights per day out of Brunswick-Golden Isles Airport are once again ushering travelers from Brunswick to Atlanta and beyond. It is our mission to create an excellent travel experience.
